Accessing the Virtual Workspace via Web Browser

To utilize the web browser-based Virtual Workspace, follow these steps:

  1. Open your preferred web browser and navigate to vw.towson.edu

  2. If you are not logged into a Microsoft service, the Microsoft login page will appear. Enter your TU email address

  3. Enter your TU password.

    Note: You may be required to authenticate with the DUO Multi-Factor Authentication process.
  4. If you are using your personal computer, you may want to select the option to stay signed it. Do not stay signed in on a public or lab computer.

  5. The available desktops will appear in your browser window. Depending on your status and enrollment at the University, you may see different desktops. If you wish to simulate the experience you would receive by sitting at a Towson University-owned machine, you can launch the Towson Desktop (faculty and staff) or Student Desktop (students).

  6. Click the desktop you wish to launch. 

  7. You'll be prompted to select which resources from your local computer, you'd like to make available in the virtual desktop. Select your choices and click Allow.

  8. You'll be prompted to enter your password a second time.

  9. The Virtual Workspace experience will launch the desktop inside of your browser.

    • Note: There are some options in the toolbar at the top of the virtual desktop, including entering full screen mode and uploading a file to the desktop.

Logging off of Virtual Workspace via Web Browser

  1. When finished with the desktop, please log off by using the shortcut on the desktop.
