Access Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) on Your Mac Using the Windows App

Access the Azure Virtual Desktop (a.k.a., AVD) on your Mac computer using the Windows App or the old Microsoft Remote Desktop app. If you still have the  Microsoft Remote Desktop app installed please update the application in the app store to the new Windows App.

Install and configure Windows App

  1. Install and launch Windows App via the App Store on your Mac.
  2. Select the Plus Sign Icon in the top right.

  1. Select the Add Work or School Account.
  2. Sign in with your NetID and authenticate with Duo.

You will see the resources from AVD as pictured below. These will be saved so that whenever you launch the Windows App app and select Devices, AVD will show you the resources you can access.

Microsoft Remote Desktop App (Legacy)

  1. Select the Workspaces tab at the top of the app window.
  2. Select the Add Workspace button.
  3. Enter https://client.wvd.microsoft.com and select Add.
  4. Sign in with your NetID and authenticate with Duo.

You will see the resources from AVD as pictured below. These will be saved so that whenever you launch the Remote Desktop app and select Workspaces, AVD will show you the resources you can access.
