Configure Your Chromebook for tu-secure Wi-Fi

Configure your Chromebook to connect to the tu-secure wireless network, the recommended wireless network for TU faculty, staff and students. tu-secure provides the most secure and stable connection to the university network and access to your H: drive and other secured resources. This article supports Chrome OS v105.0 and beyond. If you need additional assistance, please contact the OTS help desks at 410-704-5151.

Configuration

  1. Click on the triangular Wi-Fi icon in the lower right corner of the screen
  2. Click on Not Connected or the currently connected Wi-Fi network
  3. Click on tu-secure from the list of available networks
  4. Enter the following settings from the authentication menu
    1. EAP method: Select PEAP.
    2. EAP Phase 2 authentication: Select MSCHAPV2.
    3. CA certificate: Select Do not check.
    4. Domain suffix match: Enter towson.edu.
    5. Identity: Enter your NetID username.
    6. Password: Enter your NetID password.
    7. Subject match, Subject alternative match, & Anonymous identity:  Leave blank.
  5. Select Connect.

 

Troubleshooting Tips

  1. Try turning off Wi-Fi and turning it back on again.
    1. In the lower right corner, click on the triangular Wi-Fi icon.
    2. Click with triangular Wi-Fi icon two times.
  2. Forget the Wi-Fi network and reconnect
    1. In the lower right corner, click on the up arrow.
    2. Click on tu-secure.
    3. Click Forget.
    4. Reconnect using the instructions above.
