Signing Into Zoom
Sign In to TU Zoom from Zoom.Towson.Edu
- Open zoom.towson.edu in your browser.
- Select Sign In (this will sign you in with SSO)
- Log in with your Email address and Password.
Sign In to Zoom from the Zoom App
The app is available to install in Software Center (TU owned computers only), or at https://zoom.us/download.
- Launch the app and click Sign In (if displayed)
- Select SSO or Continue with SSO
- If prompted, enter towson-edu in the box and select Continue.
- Log in with your TU email address and Password.
Enable Live Auto-Transcription
- Launch your Zoom meeting.
- Select the ^ symbol on the right side of the Show Captions button at the bottom of the screen (as pictured below).
- Select View Full Transcript from the pop-up menu. Zoom will prompt you to "Set the caption language for this meeting."

- Select English, then select the Save button. The transcription will appear in the Transcript panel on the right.
Be aware that the accuracy of live transcription depends on many variables, such as but not limited to:
- Background noise
- Volume and clarity of the speaker’s voice
- Speaker's proficiency with the English language
- Lexicons and dialects specific to a geography or community
