TU faculty, staff and students may install the Microsoft 365 (M365) desktop apps on up to five personal devices. To install M365 apps on a university-owned Windows computer, use the Software Center. This article describes how to download and install M365 apps on a personal Windows PC.
Download apps from m365.towson.edu
- Open m365.towson.edu in your preferred web browser.
- Sign in using your NetID username and password. Faculty and staff are required to authenticate with Duo as well. Your Microsoft 365 portal will display.
- Select Install and more from the upper right corner of the page. Then, select Install Microsoft 365 apps.
- Run the installer. Select Run when prompted to run the file on your machine.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to install Microsoft 365 onto your PC.
Manage your devices
After you have installed the M365 apps on one or more computers, you may need to manage your installations. For example, you may need to deactivate a computer that is no longer in your possession or in use.
- From the upper right corner, select your account avatar/name and then select View account from the drop-down menu.
- The My Account page will appear. Select Devices.
- The Devices page will appear. Select the drop-down arrow next to a computer’s name to see its ID number and disable the device.
- To deactivate a machine, select Disable lost device. A prompt asking "Disable [device name]?” will display.
- Select Disable lost device.
- Finally, you will receive a message informing you that the removal was successful.
Log out and log in
After logging out of Microsoft 365, you will be redirected to the Microsoft 365 login page. Be aware that this login page differs from the TU Microsoft 365 login page; you must use your full TU email address to log back in.
- Select your avatar in the top right corner of the screen. If you have not set an avatar image, a silhouette will display.
- Next, select the Sign-out button. You will be redirected to the Microsoft 365 login page.
- You can log in using your full TU email address to return to the TU Microsoft 365 page.
