Use the TU Email List Service to participate in electronic discussion groups on many different topics. List Owners may find it useful to review this document. Most of your interaction will be in viewing and sending email, but you can use the Email List Service website to review your current lists, subscribe to new lists and view web-based archives of all list messages. This document will step you through subscribing and posting to a list.
Access the TU Email List Service website
- Login to the TU Email List Service by visiting https://lists.towson.edu.
- Click "Login" at the top right and enter you TU email address and password.
- You can now click on "My Lists" and see all the lists you are subscribed too.
Subscribe to a list
In many cases, list owners will handle list subscriptions. However, you may wish to subscribe to open lists, or an owner of a list may request that you subscribe yourself.
- After logging into https://lists.towson.edu, click on "Search for Lists" in the top menu bar.
- Search for the list you want to subscribe and click on the list.
- Click on "Subscribe" on the left menu bar.
Post to a list
There are two ways to post to a list – via email and via the web. To post to any list, you must be a subscriber of that list. In addition, if the list is moderated, any messages you post will need moderator approval.
Post via email
Send an email to the list address (listname@lists.towson.edu). This is the easiest, and recommended, method. The message must originate from the email account that is subscribed to the list.
Post via the web
- Login to https://lists.towson.edu
- Browse to the list by clicking on "My Lists" in the bottom menu bar.
- Click "Post" at the bottom of the left menu bar.
- Enter the subject and message in the appropriate fields.
- Click "Send to list".
