To share a video using your personal YouTube account, follow these steps to upload the file. Set its visibility as Unlisted, and only those with whom you share the link are likely to view it.
Upload a video to your personal YouTube account
- Sign in to your personal YouTube account. You may have to create a new (free) account at YouTube.com to proceed.
- After signing in to your account, click on Create in the upper right corner of the page, then select Upload video from the drop-down menu.
- Select the SELECT FILES button in the middle of the page.
- Navigate to and select the file(s) you wish to upload. YouTube will present a scrollable upload dialog box.
- Enter a Title and Description for your video and answer the questions. Click Next.
- When you get to the Visibility section, select Unlisted, and select the Save button. YouTube will display a Video Published confirmation message with the video URL when the upload completes.
- Click on the copy icon next to the video link to copy it. You can hit CTRL-V to paste the link into a document or email. Only those with the link to the video will be able to view it.
