Reset Your Forgotten NetID Password Using Your Security Questions

If the need arises, reset your NetID password by answering the security questions you set up when you first received your account. You can also use a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to your mobile phone or email as described in a separate article.

Reset your NetID password using your account security questions

  1. Open towson.edu/netid in your browser. 
  2. Select the existing security questions link in the Reset NetID Password section. 
  3. Enter your user information into the required fields to verify your identity.
  4. Select the SUBMIT button.
  5. Type your Answers to the security questions you selected when activating your account.
  6. Select the SUBMIT button. If you're a student, skip to Step 8; if you are faculty or staff, continue with Step 7.
  7. Validate your credentials via the DUO multi-factor authentication process.
  8. Enter a new password in the New Password field. Your new password must follow the rules listed on the page.
  9. Re-enter the password in the Re-type Password field.
  10. Select the RESET PASSWORD button. The page will confirm that you have successfully reset your NetID password. 
  11. Select the Logout button in the upper right corner of the screen to close the page.
