Some printers require a User Number (code) to print. Learn how to enable your printer for code printing and how to input your user number.
Enable your Windows computer for code printing
- Use the Search box next to the Start button to search for Printers.
- Select Printers and Scanners from the search results.
- Select the printer you wish to manage.
- Select Printing preferences.
- Select the Job Handling tab in the Printing Preferences window.
- Under the Authentication drop-down, select User Number.
- Enter your User Number.
- Select the OK button.
Enable your Mac computer for code printing
- Open a document to print.
- Scroll down to Printer Options and click on the arrow to expand its options.
- Select Job Handling from the list.
- Select the Authentication tab.
- Select the radio button labeled User Number and enter your User Number.
- To save the user number, scroll up to the top to the Presets section.
- Select Default Settings.
- Select Save Current Settings as Preset and give it a Preset Name.
- Once you are done, select Print.
