Essential Steps to Quickly Setup Your Blackboard Course

All courses that exist on PeopleSoft will have a Blackboard Course Site. Courses and enrollments are populated from PeopleSoft into the Blackboard system. Complete the following steps to quickly get your course up and running.

1. How to Access Your Course

  1. Using a Web Browser navigate to https://blackbaord.towson.edu
  2. Log in with your TU Email and Password
  3. Under the Courses Tab on the left hand side. Find your current semester Course

2. Make Your Course Available to Your Students

  1. On your Courses page, locate the course you wish to make available.
  2. At the right end of the course card, select the triple dot icon. 
  3. Select Course Settings
  4. Select Open under Course Status
  5. You will notice at the top your course now says Open
  6. Click the to close the Window and refresh your browser window to see the change

3. Add Content to Your Course

  1. On your Courses page, locate the course and click on it to enter the course
  2. On the Content Page click on the Plus Sign
  3. Chose to create a document or upload a document

4. Post and Send an Announcement to Your Students

  1. Enter Your Course
  2. Click on Announcement at the top
  3. Click on the Plus Button on the far right to create a new announcement
  4. Give your announcement a Title and Message
  5. Check the box to Send Email and click Save Draft to post later or Post to post the announcement now
