Qwickly Jot is a digital assignment tools that allows students to write on charts, diagrams, or maps online, instead of doing the assignment on paper. When creating the assignment, instructors can choose which pre-created format the students should use, such as a music staff, anatomy diagram or map, or add their own.
Creating a Qwickly Jot Assignment
- Navigate to https://blackboard.towson.edu
- Log in with your TU NetID and Password
- Open the course where you want to create the assignment
- Locate where the assignment should be in the course content, then click the Plus (+) button where you would like it created
- Select Content Market
- Scroll down and select the Plus (+) on the Qwickly Jot box
- Once the content page reloads, click the three dots to the right of the new item and select Edit
- Change the name of the assignment as necessary
- Check the box labeled Create gradebook entry for this item
- Enter the grade settings for the assignment, including the category, and click Save
- Click on the assignment name
- On the new tab, fill out the assignment settings
- Allow Student Text Submission: Adds a textbox at the end of the student submission to allow students to type
- Assignment Instructions: Enter any instructions the students need in order to complete the assignment
- Attempts: The number of attempts the students are allowed to use.
- Image Upload: You can either select a specific template at the bottom of the page, or upload your own image for students to draw on. You can also click View More Templates to see additional template options
- Once the assignment settings are in place, click Submit
- Close the tab and make the assignment Visible to students
Grade Qwickly Jot Assignments
Once your students have submitted their assignments, follow these steps to grade the submissions.
- Open the course and locate the assignment
- Click on the Assignment name
- Once the Assignment opens, click on the Submissions tab at the top of the page
- The student submission will be on the bottom half of the page
- To leave feedback, click the comment icon next to Leave Student Feedback
- Enter the Grade
- To move to the next student, click the arrow icons to the right or left of the student's name above their submission.
- Once you have finished grading, click on the Gradebook tab at the top of the page
- Choose whether to use the highest grade or most recent attempt grade under Grading Options
- Click Send Grades to LMS
