Creating a RedShelf Direct Access Textbook Link

Tags faculty black

Setting up your RedShelf Direct Access Textbook link in your Blackboard course is an important step in making sure your students are able to access their textbook.

Prior to creating the link in Blackboard, instructors must first reach out to the TU Bookstore to let them know they are planning to use RedShelf Direct Access and provide their course and textbook information.

If your RedShelf Direct Access link does not have a textbook listed, or the textbook listed is incorrect, please contact the TU Bookstore at directaccess@towson.edu.

Creating a RedShelf Direct Access Textbook Link

  1. Navigate to https://blackboard.towson.edu
  2. Log in with your TU NetID and Password
  3. Enter the desired course
  4. Locate where you'd like to put the link inside your course, then select the Plus (+) button where you want the link to go
  5. Select Content Market
  6. Scroll down to find RedShelf Direct Access
  7. Click the Plus (+) button in the lower right-hand corner of the tile
  8. Once the content page has reloaded, change the visibility of the link by selecting Hidden from students and changing it to Visible to students
  9. If you'd like to change the name of the link, click the three dots to the right of the link, then select Edit. Change the name, then click Save at the bottom.
