Using Xfinity on Campus

Xfinity on campus is a video streaming service available to current resident students living in TU-managed residence halls. It is not available to faculty, staff, commuters, or residents of the Capstone residence halls (e.g. Millennium, Tubman, and Harris).  Capstone uses Apogee for their television and streaming services and their residents may get support for Stream2 by calling 1-855-241-1590.

Connecting to Xfinity on Campus on the Web

  1. Go to xfinityoncampus.com
  2. Search for Towson University
  3. Log in with your NetID & Password

Xfinity Stream Roku App

Rokus are available for resident students to borrow from the SCS Multimedia Lab in Cook 35.  

  1. Install the Xfinity Stream app from the app store
  2. Start the app and click Sign in
  3. On a computer or phone, go to xfinity.com/authorize
  4. Enter the code displayed on the screen
  5. Do not log into the Xfinity login page.  Instead, click Xfinity on Campus students, sign in here below the Xfinity ID login prompt.
  6. Select Towson University from the list and log in using the TU login page

Xfinity Stream iPhone & Android Apps

The Xfinity Stream app allows you to stream live TV as well as on-demand content.  For some programs and networks, you will need to be connected to the TU network (wired, tu-secure or tu-openaccess)

  1. Install the Xfinity Stream app from the app store
  2. Click Sign in
  3. Do not log into the Xfinity login page.  Instead, click Xfinity on Campus students, sign in here below the Xfinity ID login prompt.
  4. Select Towson University from the list and log in using the TU login page

Accessing TV Network Websites/Apps including the Max App

Many of the cable TV networks available with Xfinity on Campus have companion websites and apps that offer live and on demand streaming of their programs.  Since HBO is part of our package, the Max app is among the available apps that you can use with Xfinity on Campus.

  1. Open app or website.  See the list of network websites (networks will not be available if they aren't in our package) 
  2. Choose the option to log in with your provider (some may require that you first create an account that you can associate with your TU account)
  3. Do not log into the Xfinity login page.  Instead, click Xfinity on Campus students, sign in here below the Xfinity ID login prompt.
  4. Select Towson University from the list and log in using the TU login page

Common Error Messages 

  1.  We are unable to determine your campus residency - You have logged into Xfinity on Campus successfully, but you don't have permission to use the service.  Only current resident students in TU-managed residence halls have access to this service.  It is not available to faculty, staff, commuters, or residents of the Capstone residence halls (e.g. Millennium, Tubman , and Harris).  Capstone uses Apogee for their television and streaming services and their residents may get support for Stream2 by calling 1-855-241-1590.
  2. Please Connect to Your University WiFi Some content is only available while connected to TU's network (i.e. tu-secure, tu-openaccess, or the wired network). 
  3. More common error messages are available on the Xfinity support website.
