Blackboard Grading Guide

This guide introduces the Overall Grade in the Blackboard Ultra Gradebook and how it is used to provide a weighted grade total.

After creating your gradebook setup in your syllabus, you will need to transfer that information to your Blackboard Gradebook.

Overall Grade Formula:

((Score1 / Total Points * Weight) + (Score2 / Total Points * Weight) + (Score3 / Total Points * Weight)) * Overall Weight

The weightage assigned to each score item is part of a total of 100%. If a particular item has a different maximum point value, it will be converted to 100% by dividing it by the maximum score.

Custom Calculated Grade:

(Score1 * Weight) + (Score2 * Weight) + (Score3 * Weight)

There is no weightage rule applied. The formula multiplies all scores with their given values and sums the result.
