Reset Your Forgotten NetID Password with a One-Time Passcode

If needed, reset your forgotten or expired NetID password using a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to your mobile phone or email. You can also use your NetID Security Questions.

Reset your NetID password using a verification code

  1. Open https://netid.towson.edu/identity/self-service/tow/smsreset.jsf in your browser.
  2. Enter your user information into the required fields to verify your identity and request a One-Time Passcode.
  3. Select the SUBMIT button.
  4. Select your Preferred Contact Method to receive your one-time passcode; you may choose Cellphone, Email or Both.
  5. Select the SEND ONE-TIME PASSCODE button. The passcode will expire in 30 minutes.
  6. Enter the one-time passcode you received in the Verification Code section. 
  7. Select the VALIDATE button. A Create New Password page will appear.
  8. Enter a new password in the New Password field. Your password must follow rules listed on the page.
  9. Re-enter the password in the Re-type Password field. 
  10. Select the RESET PASSWORD button. The page will confirm the successful reset of your NetID password. 
  11. Select the Logout button in the upper right corner of the screen to close the page.
