Blackboard Semester Checklist: Faculty Responsibilities

Semester Checklist: Blackboard & Grading

Ensure your courses are ready for students at the start of the term and properly archived at the end. Use these steps to manage your Blackboard Ultra courses.

Beginning of Semester Responsibilities

Open Your Course: Make sure your courses are available to students. View this video or TechHelp Knowledge Base Article for steps on how to make them available.

Course Combines: Complete the course combine request form for courses.

Course Copy: View the Blackboard Help website for copying in Ultra courses.

Check Course Accessibility Score: Check your courses accessibility score and fix accessibility issues using the Ally Tool.  View this Ally support page to learn more and this support page to get started.

End of Semester Responsibilities

Submit Final Grades to PeopleSoft: At the end of every semester you will need to submit official final grades to PeopleSoft.  Contact the Registrar's office with any questions and view this support document for steps on how to submit final grades.

Close Course: Closing your course will allow your students to still see the course but not interact. View this Techhelp Knowledge Base Article for steps to close your course.

Export your Course: Save a backup of your course materials, as this will allow you to import your materials into another course. View this Techhelp Knowledge Base Article to learn more.
