Qualtrics is a web-based survey used for conducting survey research, evaluations and other data collection activities. Available to all Towson University Faculty, Students and Staff for supporting instruction and research. Anyone (with no prior experience) can use this research suite to build surveys, send surveys, and analyze responses. Surveys can be created and distributed by anyone with a TU email account - all from any online location.
Requirements and Installation
Qualtrics is a browser-based application and does not require installation for use. The software is available both on campus and off campus through a standard web browser, anywhere you have an Internet connection. Qualtrics officially supports the following browsers:
- Apple Safari
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge (Chromium Version)
- Mozilla Firefox

Access and Usage
Qualtrics is available on the web at https://towson.qualtrics.com or https://towson.az1.qualtrics.com. Towson University's Qualtrics site is enabled with Single Sign On (SSO), and does not require the creation of a new account or password.
Once you are logged in, you will be presented with the "XM" page. From the hamburger menu on the top left, you can select a category or select "Create New Project" on the bottom left of the screen to get started. Please keep in mind that your survey may be subject to certain restrictions based upon content or audience. Please make sure to engage Towson University's Survey Strategy Committee or Institutional Review Board as appropriate.
Assistance with Qualtrics
For usage related inquiries, please use the support available from Qualtrics. To open a technical support ticket, navigate to the switcher menu at the top right of the Qualtrics browser window, and select "Customer Success Hub". Choose "Submit a Ticket".
The Office of Technology Services can assist with a limited set issues related to account administration, but does not provide usage instruction or assistance. You can open a ticket with the Office of Technology Services for the following issues:
- Adjust account permissions
- Recover a deleted survey
- Change survey ownership
- Temporarily Increase response / email limits
