Towson University's NETID users will now be able to connect to Eduroam wi-fi using their TU network credentials when visiting other institutions that broadcasts the Eduroam wireless network. This is extremely helpful as they don't have to wait for a sponsored guest account at the visiting institution to get network and Internet access.
Eduroam (education roaming) is a secure, worldwide Wi-Fi roaming service. It lets students, researchers, and staff connect to the Internet at any participating school, university, or research facility. Users log in safely using the email address and password from their own home school.
How to connect to Eduroam wi-fi at visiting institutions:
- Connect to wireless SSID "eduroam"
- Enter your credentials in the form of your TU email address (i.e. someone@towson.edu or someone@students.towson.edu ) and your Towson University NETID password.
- You may be prompted to accept the Towson University certificate (wireless.towson.edu). Press Accept.
- You are now connected to eduroam.
Important things to keep in mind when Connecting to Eduroam wi-fi:
- Besides the general Internet and web access, other applications and network resources might be restricted and governed by the visiting institution.
- Contact Towson University OTS Helpdesk ONLY for Eduroam authentication related issues. We do not have any other control on the Eduroam network.
- At this time Towson University does not broadcast Eduroam wi-fi. On TU campus continue using tu-secure or tu-openaccess.
