Procedures to Install SPSS on Windows
Requirements

The computer must be university-owned

A connection to the university's wired network or a wireless network (on or off-campus)

The computer must be running a working Software Center client
Uninstall the Old SPSS Version
Before installing a new version of SPSS, you first want to uninstall any older version installed on the computer as follows.

To uninstall SPSS you first need to use the Temporary Computer Administrator Rights Tool (TCAR) to grant yourself rights to uninstall SPSS at www.towson.edu/TCAR/

After granting yourself temporary administrator rights, open Start Menu> Control Panel > Programs and Features.

In the Programs and Features window, locate and select the old version of SPSS, e.g. IBM SPSS Statistics 23 then select uninstall located at the top of the Programs and Features window, and SPSS will be uninstalled.

Proceed to install the new version below.
Install New SPSS Version

Click the Windows Search button beside the Start button. Search for Software Center.

In Software Center, locate the latest SPSS version to install, e.g. SPSS Statistics 28.0 - IBM SPSS Statistics 28.

Click on the application. Click the Install button.

Allow the installation to complete, and restart the computer if prompted to do so.
