Close a Level 0 project

Body

  1. Prior to closing the project in TD, post a summary of how the project went as a feed comment. No close out doc is required for a level 0 project.
  2. Ensure all team members have logged any final hours.
  3. Close the project in TD
    • If the project was successfully completed and ready to be closed:
      • Go to Actions, select Close.
      • Select Status: select Inactive radio button. Active allows for continued reporting of time and expenses. Projects that are closed should not be able to have time reported.
      • Copy any critical files/docs to the File Cabinet (project files can't be accessed once the project is closed, unless put in the File Cabinet).
      • Check the box to close any unfinished Tasks, Issues or Risks
      • Under Status, select Completed-Met Expectations.
      • Change Health to appropriate color (for a successfully completed project, this would typically be Green).
      • Change Percent Complete to 100 (if it isn’t already complete).
      • Update Comments, indicating why it's closing.
      • Select Save.
    • If the project was not completed or is being canceled:
      • Go to Actions, select Close.
      • Select Status: select Inactive radio button. Active allows for continued reporting of time and expenses. Projects that are closed should not be able to have time reported.
      • Copy any critical files/docs to the File Cabinet (project files can't be accessed once the project is closed, unless put in the File Cabinet).
      • Check the box to close any unfinished Tasks, Issues or Risks
      • Under Status, select appropriate status (Completed-Did Not Meet Expectations or Canceled)
      • Change Health to appropriate color (for a project that was not successfully completed, this would typically be Yellow or Red; for canceled projects, None).
      • Update Percent Complete to appropriate percentage.
      • Update Comments, indicating why it's closing.
      • Select Save.
