Pronouns are centrally handled by the Office Inclusion and Institutional Equity. To submit your request to update your pronouns, please visit: https://www.towson.edu/chosenname
Once the submitted form is processed, you will be able to view pronouns on your profile in NetID Management and in Zoom upon next log in.
In the Zoom profile, there is now a section on pronouns: what they are set to and how they are shared in meetings. Pronouns are carried over from what was requested originally via ‘Chosen/Preferred Name, Pronoun and Gender Identity Request Form.’
If no pronouns were submitted, this area will be grayed out. Zoom will not prompt for any options. Pronouns may only be requested and updated via the above form.

There is an option on how to share and display your pronouns. By default, Zoom has this set to ‘Ask me every time after joining meetings and webinars.’

- ‘Always share in meetings and webinars’ will present the pronouns in the participant list. You can show or hide pronouns once in the meeting.
- ‘Ask me every time after joining meetings and webinars’ (default) will prompt an individual to “share” or “don’t share,” and will display current pronouns when entering a meeting. If the prompt is ignored, the pronouns will not be shared. You can show or hide pronouns once in the meeting.
- The prompt:

- ‘Do not share in meetings and webinars’ will not show pronouns by default. You can show or hide pronouns once in the meeting.
