The program supports the needs of full-time faculty and staff members that require the use of a University-owned laptop computer when computer is being repaired, waiting for a new purchase, or an event.
Laptops are available for checkout only if they are in inventory.
- Windows with university standard software. Additional software can be requested
- MacBook computers with university standard software. Additional software can be requested.
- No data should be stored on the loaner laptop.
Laptop may be checked out for the following reasons:
1. Towson computer is being serviced.
2. Waiting on a new laptop or computer to be delivered.
3. Short term events, meetings, and training.
Instructions
1. To reserve a laptop, the client will submit a TechHelp ticket and include the following:
- Name
- Reason for the loaner
- Date of pick up
- Date of return
- Type of laptop: PC/Mac
- Additional software needed:
- Special Request
6. The support staff will respond to the client with any additional questions, or status of the loaner laptop through the TechHelp ticket.
7. The TechHelp ticket will stay open (On Hold) until the OTS Loaner laptop is returned by client.
