Code 21.2:13 indicates that there is something preventing the print carriage from moving left out of the carriage station. Usually, this is a piece of paper or invisible debris. When this happened in March 2019, HP Support provided SCS the following steps to help us return the printer to operation.
Should the need arise and you try this procedure, be sure to create a ticket to document your effort and assign it to Bill.
- Power down the printer and detach the power cord (select the top image) from the back.
- Open the cover.
- Locate the print carriage in the station area (select the bottom image) on the far right end of the printer.
- Gently/slowly move the print carriage from the station to the far left end of the printer. There will be slight resistance; if it seems stuck, don’t force it.
- Examine the empty station for paper scraps or other debris — you’ll need a flashlight — and remove anything that might be interfering with carriage movement.
- Close the cover; the carriage should still be at the left end.
- Re-attach the power cord.
- Power on the printer.
- After it runs its start-up routine, it should display the Home screen and be ready to print. If it does not, note that in the TechHelp ticket.
