Create a Conference Call on Your Cisco 79 Series IP Phone

[Faculty and Staff] Use the conference feature to add parties to an established call on your Cisco79 Series IP phone. You may add up to six parties to a conference call. You may also join two existing calls together for spur-of-the-moment, three-way conversations. Read on to learn how to create a conference call and how to join two callers together.

Use the conference feature to add parties to an established call on your Cisco IP phone. You may add up to six parties to a conference call. You may also join two existing calls together for spur-of-the-moment, three-way conversations. Read on to learn how to create a conference call and how to join two callers together.

Create a conference call 

  1. During an existing call, press the More softkey (highlighted below).

  2. Press the Confrn (Conference) softkey. The first caller will be put on hold automatically.
  3. Enter the phone number of the new conference participant on the keypad.
  4. After the call connects and you speak with the new conference participant, press the Confrn softkey.
  5. This will add the new party to the call. Your screen will display To Conference.
  6. Repeat Steps 1-5 to add additional participants.
  7. To end the conference call, press the EndCall softkey. All calls are ended.

Join two calls

If you have two incoming calls on the same line and you wish to have all parties talk to each other, you can create a join between these calls.

  1. While on a phone call, when a second call comes in, press the ▼ navigation button to select the second call.
  2. Press the Answer softkey to answer the second call. The first call will be put on hold automatically.
  3. Press the more softkey twice (until the Join softkey displays).
  4. Press the Join softkey.
  5. Press the ▲ navigation button to select the first call.
  6. Press the more softkey until the Join softkey displays.
  7. Press the Join softkey.
