Windows 10 should automatically detect the tu-secure network; you should only need to select Connect and enter your NetID and password. However, if for some reason you have trouble connecting, you can set up the connection manually. Here's how.
Configure Windows 10 for tu-secure
- Select the Search Windows (magnifying glass) button next to the Windows Start button.
- Type Control Panel and press Enter.
- Select Network and Internet under Adjust your computer’s settings.
- Select Network and Sharing Center.
- Select Set up a new connection or network under Change your networking settings.
- Select Manually connect to a wireless network under Choose a connection option.
- In the Manually connect to a wireless network box, do the following:
- Enter tu-secure for Network name.
- Select WPA2-Enterprise for Security type.
- Select AES (it may already be selected) for Encryption type.
- Place a check in the box labeled Start this connection automatically.
- Select Next. The message Successfully added tu-secure should display.
- Select the Close button. You will see towson.edu listed under your active networks.
- Select the Wi-Fi (tu-secure) link next to Connections. A Wi-Fi Status box will display.
- Select the Wireless Properties button.
- Select the Settings button on the Security tab.
- In the Protected EAP Properties box do the following:
- Make sure Validate server certificate is checked.
- Check Connect to these servers.
- Enter acs1-cdc.towson.edu;acs1-udc.towson.edu in the white box under this selection.
- In the Trusted Root Certification Authorities window, check either AddTrust External CA Root or UserTrust RSA Certificate Authority.
- Select OK to return to the tu-secure Wireless Network Properties box.
- Select Advanced settings.
- Check Enable Sign on for this network.
- Select OK to exit the Advanced Settings box.
- Close all other windows and start the computer.
